Hello. We are staying in Bibbiena and would like to visit Florence for a day trip. What is the best route using car and trains please? Thank you

Good morning! Are you already in Bibbiena?
The best route would be to stick to the country roads and from Bibbiena head toward Poppi on the SR70. From there head to Consuma - Pontassieve and then on to Florence.

As Florence right now has a lot of construction going on because of new tram lines being built, I would highly recommend you park in the residential areas when you get into as soon as you get into Florence and then take a bus downtown. That way you avoid driving in areas with construction as well as the dreaded ZTL restricted zone you can’t drive into.

I suggest you download the AT Bus app for buses in Florence because that gives you bus line info as well as the chance to buy tickets on the app. Just remember even digital tickets need to be activated before you get on the bus to start the timer on the ticket. Bus travel here in Florence works by time. Each ticket has 90 min on it so you need to activate it and get that timer started.

Let me know if you need more info!!
