Trip in march at toscany

Hello everyone We are a couple planning a vacation in Tuscany in mid-March. I am looking for an area where we can do short nature trips to about 5 km and see the beauty of the area. Is March suitable for this? In addition, we are interested in a pampering accommodation at a high level if there is a possibility that the spa will be better.
In what area do we sleep? What do you suggest we

Related questions - My husband and I will be in the area around Lucca March 2-7, and then we have our own itinerary to plan from March 8-18. We will be traveling by train or by food (no rental car), so I'm trying to determine what kind of activities are most enjoyable/accessible considering the weather. Do you have any suggestions for what considerations to make regarding the weather in that region in early March? (To clarify, my husband and I are interested in the history of science and the history of art in the region, Etruscan and prehistoric sites, local food and cooking, and nature.) Thank you in advance for any suggestions you have.

The unpredictable weather and temperatures don't make it easy to plan these types of hikes however, that doesn't mean that they are not possible in March. Remember to dress warmly, wear boots and carry extra water.

Some of the places you may want to consider when planning a hike can be found along the via Francigena and at several of the national parks. Have a look at these links below for more information on some of my favorite places:

More on the via Francigena and just a side note, though these trails are longer than what you are looking for, it is possible to do just a portion of the trails. Tuscany in March

one of the great things that many people don't get to see in Tuscany are the amazing prestigious villas around Lucca.

And since you will be here in March you can also get to see the blooming of the camellia flowers. :cool: The great thing about this travel suggestion? The villa is easily reached with public transport, as are several others, have a look athese two links below for more info:

Definitely keep an eye on our March calendar for upcoming events. But just so you know, many times the calendar is updated only a bit before the month starts because...and you need to remember this is Italy...they don't officially announce the new dates for many reocurring events until the last minute. It can be frustrating - or you can take as the element of surprise :p

One other place I would suggest, especially if you are interestedin the history both of art and archeology, is the highly underestimated city of Arezzo. Not only is it very easy to access with public transport (frequent train service from Florence) it is loaded with great museums, picturesque city strolls and amazing monuments:
