Where to stay in Pienza?

Hello,

Any recommendations on where to stay in Pienza for 3 nights in August 2025?

Needs to be for 4 adults, breakfast included, within easy walk of the town centre and if it isn't asking too much to have a view of the countryside.

Thanks,

Renee

Ciao!

Villa I Cipressini is right outside of Pienza and walking distance, with gorgeous views of the countryside - https://www.tuscanyaccommodation.com/i-cipressini.html It is exactly what you are looking for, the only problem is that in August it usually asks for a minimum stay of 5 nights.

So a better choice might be Relais Il Chiostro di Pienza which I also like - https://www.tuscanyaccommodation.com/relais-il-chiostro-di-pienza.html - because it is right in the town but has great views from some of the upper story rooms but mostly from its garden!

You can see more options here for hotels and B&Bs in Pienza here: https://www.tuscanyaccommodation.com/pienza/
or you can search directly on our affiliate link on Booking.com (using our affiliate link gives us a small commission at no extra cost to you)!

Let me know if you have any further questions :D

Jumping in on this older post because places in Pienza book up quickly for August. You might check small agriturismos just outside the walls — many have great views and are still an easy walk to the center. Some offer breakfast on a terrace overlooking the Val d’Orcia. Has anyone recently stayed somewhere within walking distance that worked well for a group of four?

I’ve had good luck picking small agriturismos just outside the walls, where you wake up to those rolling hills yet still stroll into town in a few minutes. Places around the southern gate often give you the best valley views and usually include breakfast. I booked them the same way I book a hotel near orchard road, focusing on spots with an easy walk and a calm vibe, and it worked out nicely for a group of four.

We stayed last June at Podere Casarossa right outside and below Pienza and it was walking distance to town, about 10 minutes (albeit uphill on the way there, it was downhill on the way back). Wonderful views from the bedrooms since it is on the first floor and from around the farmhouse.
